The Change of Social Outlook

The Change of Social Outlook--At any moment in time, in any society, there exists a cluster and COMBINATION of IDEAS, VALUES, and INSTITUTIONS that dominate a society. One must SEARCH for the dominating cluster of ideas, values and institutions that give IDENTITY and COHERENCE to a society. The dominant combination of these ideas is recognizing as the thesis of the age and the counterculture. The minority expressing a need causes societal changes, resulting in dissonance, discontinuity and discontent, causing MOVEMENT in society by the majority, with a final (though temporary) conclusion of the majority of society adopting the minority's views and thus becoming the major social outlook.
